When choosing accessories becomes a challenge
This year I turn 29 and, like many people my age, I see my friends busy with weddings, babies, and career changes.
Amidst all that chaos, I ran into a problem I wasn't expecting: how to choose quality accessories that look good now and continue to look good in the future .
Cheaper pieces wear out quickly; luxury ones cost the equivalent of several months' salary. And so, I ended up undecided.
Discovering Japanese artisanal jewelry
In my search, I discovered something I fell in love with: HARIO , the Japanese brand famous worldwide for its V60 coffee maker and heat-resistant glass, also creates handcrafted accessories and sustainable jewelry .
Each piece is handmade by Japanese artisans and designed to last for many years.
My personal experience with Scenic glass earrings
On a recent trip to Japan with my Mexican partner, we visited the HARIO flagship store in Nagoya. There, I spotted a pair of glass earrings called Scenic , with a wavy shape that reflects light like a fold of silk.
Although I didn't buy them at the time, my partner secretly bought them and gave them to me later (yes, he's a sweetheart!).
Since then, they've become my favorites: they pair equally well with an elegant dress as they do with a T-shirt, and I hadn't seen a similar design in Mexico. Plus, although they're a bit large, the heat-resistant glass is very lightweight, making them comfortable to wear all day.
Why this jewelry is different
HARIO not only offers beautiful jewelry , but also focuses on sustainability :
-
Each piece is handmade Japanese craftsmanship
-
They can be repaired to extend their useful life.
-
Unique designs that you won't find in Mexico
This philosophy fits perfectly with Casa TSUGU, my project to bring Japanese craftsmanship to Mexico and promote more conscious consumption.
Japanese crafts in Mexico: more than an accessory
This experience inspired me so much that I contacted HARIO directly, and now their pieces will be part of Casa TSUGU's core products.
My goal is for more people in Mexico to learn about Japanese artisanal jewelry , enjoy its quality, and adopt sustainable consumer habits that value the story behind each piece.
